OMEA’s All-State program, a prestigious honor for music students throughout the state, is back for the 2025 season. Over the last 105 years, All-State has celebrated the highest level of musical achievement among high school students, selecting the best and brightest young musicians to come together for an unforgettable experience. This year’s program promises to continue this tradition of excellence, offering students the opportunity to perform with some of the finest musical minds in the state and to receive instruction from renowned conductors and educators.
The 2025 OMEA All-State program will take place from November 10th to 12th at the historic Peoria Civic Center in Peoria, Illinois. Students from across the state will come together to form five distinct ensembles: Chorus, Band, Orchestra, Jazz Band, and Guitar Ensemble. Each ensemble will work under the direction of a team of experienced conductors, including 27 conductors who are new to the All-State program this year, and will perform a variety of challenging and diverse repertoire. The highlight of the weekend will be a series of culminating concerts, featuring performances by all five ensembles and providing a showcase for some of the highest-quality student music-making in the state.
The OMEA All-State program is open to all high school students in Illinois, regardless of their school affiliation or musical background and offers an array of concurrent workshops, masterclasses, and performances. In addition to the traditional All-State ensembles, students may also audition for the smaller and more exclusive Honors Ensembles. These ensembles provide a unique opportunity for students to work with nationally recognized conductors and perform challenging and diverse repertoire at a higher level.
