The Georgia College & State University (GCSU) academic calendar for the spring 2025 semester is now available online. The semester will begin on Monday, January 13, 2025, and end on Friday, May 9, 2025. Classes will be held Monday through Friday, with the exception of holidays. The university will be closed for the following holidays during the spring 2025 semester:

Commencement Ceremony

The GCSU Spring 2025 Commencement Ceremony will be held on Saturday, May 10, 2025, at 10:00 AM in the Centennial Center. All graduates are required to participate in the ceremony. Guests are welcome to attend.

Tickets are required for guests. Each graduate will receive four (4) guest tickets. Additional guest tickets may be purchased for $10 each.

Regalia

All graduates are required to wear academic regalia. Regalia can be purchased from the GCSU Bookstore or rented from a local vendor.

Processional

Graduates will line up in the Centennial Center lobby at 9:30 AM. The processional will begin at 10:00 AM.

Ceremony

The ceremony will include the following:

  • Welcome address by the President of GCSU
  • Commencement address by a distinguished guest
  • Recognition of graduates
  • Conferral of degrees
  • Recessional

Reception

Following the ceremony, a reception will be held in the Centennial Center lobby. Graduates and their guests are invited to attend.

Parking

Free parking will be available in the Centennial Center parking lot. A handicap drop-off zone will be located at the front entrance of the Centennial Center.
