The Clemson Tigers football team is set to begin spring practice on Tuesday, March 14th. The Tigers will have 15 practices over the course of five weeks, culminating in the annual Spring Game on Saturday, April 15th. The Spring Game will be held at Death Valley and will be televised on ACC Network.
Clemson is coming off a 10-3 season in 2022, which included a win in the ACC Championship Game and a berth in the College Football Playoff. The Tigers lost several key players to the NFL Draft, including quarterback Cade Klubnik and wide receiver Justyn Ross. However, Clemson returns a wealth of talent, including running back Will Shipley and defensive end Myles Murphy.
The Tigers will be looking to replace Klubnik at quarterback this spring. Klubnik, a five-star recruit, started the final six games of the 2022 season and led Clemson to a 5-1 record. Klubnik is now in the NFL, and Clemson will have to find a new starting quarterback. The Tigers have several options at quarterback, including Hunter Johnson, Cade Klubnik, and Billy Wiles. Johnson is a redshirt junior who has started 12 games in his career. Klubnik is a true freshman who has impressed the coaching staff with his arm strength and athleticism. Wiles is a redshirt sophomore who has not yet played in a game. The Tigers will also be looking to replace Ross at wide receiver. Ross was Clemson’s leading receiver in 2022, and he was one of the best wide receivers in the country. Clemson has several talented wide receivers on the roster, including Antonio Williams, Adam Randall, and Beaux Collins. Williams is a redshirt junior who has 48 career receptions. Randall is a redshirt sophomore who has 28 career receptions. Collins is a true freshman who has impressed the coaching staff with his speed and athleticism.
