The fall semester will begin on Monday, August 26, 2024, and end on Friday, December 13, 2024. The following are the key dates for the fall semester:

Labor Day (university closed): Monday, September 2, 2024
Midterm break: Monday, October 14, 2024, through Friday, October 18, 2024
Thanksgiving break: Wednesday, November 27, 2024, through Friday, November 29, 2024
Classes end: Friday, December 13, 2024
Final exams: Monday, December 16, 2024, through Friday, December 20, 2024

Spring Semester 2025

The spring semester will begin on Monday, January 27, 2025, and end on Friday, May 9, 2025. The following are the key dates for the spring semester:

Spring break: Monday, March 17, 2025, through Friday, March 21, 2025

Summer Session 2025

The summer session will begin on Monday, May 19, 2025, and end on Friday, August 8, 2025. The following are the key dates for the summer session:

Fall Semester Commencement Details

The Fall Semester Commencement ceremony will be held on **Saturday, December 14, 2024** at the UPMC Events Center in Moon Township. The ceremony will begin at **10:00 AM**.

Regalia Rental

All graduating students are required to wear academic regalia during the commencement ceremony. Regalia can be rented from the RMU Bookstore. The deadline to order regalia is **October 15, 2024**.

Tickets

Each graduating student will receive **four (4)** guest tickets for the commencement ceremony. Additional tickets may be purchased for $10.00 each. Tickets can be purchased at the RMU Bookstore or online.

Summer Term Registration and Course Schedule

Registration for the Summer Term 2024-2025 at RMU will open on April 1, 2024. Students can register for courses through the RMU Self-Service portal or by contacting the Office of the Registrar.

Course Registration Timetable

The course registration timetable for the Summer Term 2024-2025 is as follows:

Course Schedule

Online Course Registration

Students can register for online courses through the RMU Self-Service portal. To register for an online course, students must first select the course they wish to take. Once the course has been selected, students must click on the “Register” button. Students will then be prompted to enter their student ID number and password. After entering their login information, students will be able to complete the registration process.

5. Degree Completion Deadlines

Post-Baccalaureate Teacher Education Graduate Candidates: Students must complete all degree requirements by the end of the summer semester in which their graduation application is submitted.
Post-Master’s Graduate Certificate Candidates: Students must complete all degree requirements by the end of the semester in which their graduation application is submitted.
Master’s Graduate Candidates: Candidates must complete the following actions no later than the deadlines listed below for the semester in which they intend to graduate:

Apply to graduate in your COLONEL (Student Planning) account	11:59 p.m. EST on the third Monday of the semester
Submit a Capstone Project Approval Form with your faculty advisor’s approval signature to the College of Graduate and Extended Studies office	11:59 p.m. EST on the third Monday of the semester
Master’s students completing a thesis must submit the electronic Thesis Approval Form to the College of Graduate and Extended Studies by 11:59 p.m. EST on the third Monday to have their thesis published in RMU’s Scholars Showcase repository.	11:59 p.m. EST on the third Monday of the semester
All other Master’s students who choose to have their Capstone Project (other than a thesis or creative project) published in Scholars Showcase must submit an electronic Capstone Project Approval Form to the College of Graduate and Extended Studies office no later than 11:59 p.m. EST on the third Monday of the semester.	11:59 p.m. EST on the third Monday of the semester

Graduate students who do not meet the above deadlines will be subject to a $100 late fee.
